What is PlayApp?
PlayApp is a marketplace of small, focused web utilities that solve one thing well. Think of it as an app store for single-page tools — calculators, password generators, color pickers, unit converters, browser games, regex testers, drum machines, and dozens of other tiny pieces of software that normally get lost in a Google Drive folder.
Anyone can publish a utility in seconds: drop a ZIP that contains an index.html, or upload a single HTML file. We host it, give it a permanent shareable URL, and add it to the public catalog if you list it. The marketplace is free for creators and free for visitors. Your tools stay yours.

How publishing works
- 1. Sign in with Google. Your username is created automatically from your Google profile name.
- 2. Upload your file. Either a ZIP with an
index.htmlat the root (plus your CSS, JS and assets) or a single HTML file. Limits: 5 MB total, 20 files in a ZIP, 2 MB per file. Allowed types are HTML, CSS, JS, JSON, SVG, PNG, JPG, GIF and WebP. - 3. Get a shareable link. Your app lives at a personal URL — anyone can use it via that link without needing an account.
- 4. List it in the catalog (optional). Pick a category and a clean URL slug, then publish. From that moment your utility appears on the home page, in its category, and is indexed by search engines with the title, description and keywords you set.
- 5. Iterate. Replace your files at any time from Settings — the URL stays the same, the new version is live within a minute.
Who PlayApp is for
PlayApp is for people who make tiny software. Indie makers, no-code enthusiasts, students learning HTML and JavaScript, designers prototyping interactive ideas, and creators using AI tools to spin up little utilities. If you have a single-page tool sitting in a folder somewhere, this is a friendly place to put it where other people can find and use it.
It's deliberately nota hosting platform for full web apps. There's no backend, no database connection, no server-side runtime — just static files served fast from a global CDN. The smallness is the point: simple things, easy to share.
FAQ
- Is PlayApp free to use?
- Yes — uploading, hosting and using utilities is free. No payment, no plan tiers today.
- Are private utilities possible?
- Every uploaded app is unlisted by default. It's accessible only to people who have its personal link, and won't appear in the public catalog until you choose to list it.
- Can my app call backend APIs?
- Your app is static client-side code. It can call public third-party APIs from the browser; it cannot run server-side logic on PlayApp.
- How do I update my app after publishing?
- Open your app, click Settings, scroll to "Replace files", and upload a new ZIP or HTML. The URL stays the same; the CDN cache is invalidated automatically.
